Students should not arrive at the school grounds prior to 8:30 a.m. Supervision is not provided before this time.

If you have any questions or comments please contact your child’s homeroom teacher or the main office as needed.  The main office is open from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Monday – Friday.

Be advised, older sibling(s) may be sent to youngest child’s location for dismissal, upon parent request.


For arrival, parents are encouraged to drop-off older siblings at the “youngest arrival area locations.”


Departure:
Students should depart from school grounds immediately after dismissal time (3:15 p.m.) unless they are remaining for tutoring, detention, or participation in extracurricular activities.

Excused/Early Departure:
Students are not permitted to leave early except in an emergency. With prior approval of the principal, any student in need of early dismissal must present a note signed by a parent or guardian to the classroom teacher upon arrival to class (AM). The note must state cause for the request.The parent or guardian must call for the student in the office of the principal. In the event someone other than a parent or guardian has parental permission to call for a student, that person must be prepared to show a driver's license to be photocopied by the school administration.

We will utilize the following morning drop-off procedures:
 
Kindergarten, Grade 1, 
Students will go directly to the homerooms and sit down in class lines.
 
Grade 2, Grade 3, Grade 4, Grade 5
Students will line up outside on the blacktop each morning, weather permitting. 


Please follow the directions below for
ARRIVAL and DISMISSAL
for the 2018-2019 school year. 


 Student Arrival should take place between 8:30 & 8:45 a.m
.
 

Unless you are registered for the AM REC Program,

please do not drop-off your child earlier than 8:30 a.m.,

as there will be no supervision on school grounds.  

Students entering the school by 8:50 a.m. or later will be marked TARDY.   These students MUST report to the main office.

  • Kunkel & Gjokaj (AM and PM classes)

ARRIVAL will take place at the Preschool doors in the 14th Avenue parking lot for all preschool classes.              

DAILY DISMISSAL will take place at the 14th Avenue preschool doors for FULL DAY and AM and PM Preschool classes. 

Full Day = 8:45am – 3:15pm              

AM = 8:45-11:15                  

PM = 12:45 – 3:15



  • Special education self-contained classes

Combs, Rossetti

DAILY ARRIVAL will be at the 14th Avenue doors – the teacher and the aides will supervise.

Dismissal will also be at the 14th Avenue doors. 



  • Kindergarten and Grade One Classes, Combs & Rossetti

All Kindergarten and grade 1 students will arrive at the 14th Avenue main doors and be supervised by teachers and aides to enter the school and go directly to the K and 1 classrooms.

All K Students will be dismissed in the GYM if there is inclement weather.
Parents are expected to enter the gym doors at 3:15 p.m.    
K teachers will provide details.

All students in grade one will be dismissed in the 14th Ave. parking lot.
The 14th doors will also dismiss students for Combs and Rossetti.

Grade 1 parents will be recognized one at a time by the homeroom teacher in the 14th Avenue lot.  

Generally speaking, the K and 1 classes will dismiss outside in the 14th Avenue parking lot unless there is severe weather.
 

Your child may be dismissed in the main office hallway to you – on rare occasions - during severe weather.




  • Grades 2, 3, 4, 5, & (Ms. Muvceski & Ms. Delaney}

STUDENT ARRIVAL
will be on the 16th Ave. blacktop between 8:30 - 8:45 a.m. 

Students will line-up by the classrooms in the hallways when there is inclement weather for any given morning.  


Grade 2
will enter the side doors by the apartments and remain in the hallway by rooms 1 & 2 (including Ms. Cioffi’s class) from 8:30 – 8:45 a.m.


Grade 3
will line-up during arrival time (8:30 – 8:45 am) on the ramp by the 16th Ave. doors.


Grade 4
will line-up during arrival time (8:30 – 8:45 am) on the blacktop, near the flag pole, by the 16th Ave. doors.


Grade 5
will enter for student arrival at the side doors by the apartments near the media center. DISMISSAL will also take place at these side doors every day.


Grade 2
will always ARRIVE and DISMISS at these side doors as well.

*During inclement weather rooms 1 & 2 (grade 2 / Ms. Sambucini & Ms. Ribeiro) will wait for parents to visit the classroom doors.  

Room 20 (grade 2 / Ms. Cioffi) will have her class in the hallway by the side doors for pick up at 3:15 p.m.  

*Grades 3 & 4 – During Inclement Weather DISMISSAL, students will be lined up in the hallway as follows.

Grade 3 - By the nurse's hallway 

Grade 4 - By room (# 4) hallway


Parents may wait by the doors on 16th Avenue at 3:15 p.m.
All children in the first floor hallway will exit these doors.


GRADE 5 DISMISSAL - will have the parents wait to pick-up students by the side doors during INCLEMENT WEATHER.  

If you are dropping-off primary (grades prek - 1) and intermediate students (grades 2-5) by car in the morning, you may drop-off all students at the location of your choice on either 14th or 16th Avenues.

Any student arriving late to school, after 8:50 a.m., should enter the building through the 14th or 16th Avenue doors and report to the main office to receive a LATE PASS.

These students will be marked TARDY.


Students will be dismissed each day at 3:15 p.m. after the first few weeks of school.

Contact your child's teacher in order to request that your older children will be sent to the younger sibling’s dismissal area, if you wish. 

Older students may join younger brother(s) and/or sister(s) at dismissal,
at your request.  

Please contact the homeroom teachers as needed to make sure all staff are aware.

If you wish your child to take advantage of breakfast being served at the school, simply allow your child to enter the gym between 8:30 – 8:45a.m.

Students will be supervised in the gym/cafeteria for the AM breakfast. 

Contact the main office about breakfast or lunch payments as needed.
